The municipality of San Pedro has implemented various measures to help the population cope with low temperatures during the winter season. The Secretary General, Luis Susarrey, mentioned that tours have been conducted at bus stops and circuits as part of the San Pedro Warm and Close program, where hot chocolate and blankets have been distributed. Additionally, a pilot transportation program has been launched with 22 units to facilitate the transportation of citizens within the municipality.
This Tuesday was the coldest day of the week, with extremely low temperatures. Although the thermometer registered one degree, the thermal sensation dropped to minus three in some areas of the metropolitan area. In response to this situation, the municipality of San Pedro installed outdoor heaters at urban bus stops to help alleviate the cold for public transport users.
Luis Susarrey shared images of the heaters installed at bus stops in San Pedro through his social media, highlighting the importance of being close to the community and showing empathy during such moments. In the center of Monterrey, the temperature dropped to one degree, while the thermal sensation was much lower due to the rain, reaching minus three degrees in some areas. In San Pedro and Santiago, even lower temperatures were recorded, with the thermal sensation falling below zero degrees.
The municipality of Santiago replicated San Pedro's initiative and also installed heaters at bus stops to help citizens cope with the cold. There were even reports of sleet in this area. These actions reflect the importance of providing public services attentive to the needs of the population during adverse weather conditions.
